But a particular corner in Southwest Texas, between Ozona, Uvalde and Eagle Pass, has become known as the “anthrax triangle.” An alarming 14 cases of the disease, caused by a deadly bacterial spore, have been reported to the Texas Animal Health Commission this summer.
Anthrax. Anthrax is a disease caused by spore-forming bacteria. The main animals affected by this disease are hoofed animals, such as deer, cattle, goats, and sheep. These animals usually get this disease by swallowing anthrax spores while grazing. People can also be affected by this disease.
