Benoît Dunoyer de Segonzac. Né en 1962 à Strasbourg, il rentre au conservatoire à 5 ans et suit une formation classique complète. Après le violoncelle et la clarinette, il commence la contrebasse à 20 ans et découvre le jazz et les musiques improvisées.
