Language. Silent. Sweet Kitty Bellairs is a 1916 American silent romantic comedy film based on the 1900 novel The Bath Comedy, by Agnes and Egerton Castle. The novel was first adapted for the stage in 1903 by David Belasco which was a huge Broadway success for lead actress Henrietta Crosman.

It was the second film for former Ziegfeld Follies headliner Mae Murray, following To Have and to Hold (1916, see entry). She became known as "The Girl with the Bee-Stung Lips."
A silent film adaptation starring Mae Murray followed in 1916. Plot. Kitty Bellairs ( Claudia Dell ), a famous flirt of her day, comes to Bath for the season. Early on in the film she declares that "in spite of her thirty or forty affairs, I've lost not a bit of my virtue."
The plot revolves about the successful efforts of Kitty to reconcile intimate and life long married friends between who a break is imminent on account of another woman. In the working out of her plan Kitty comes in contact with dashing young Lieutenant Verney, acted in the screen version by Tom Forman.
