Gita Sen is an Indian feminist scholar. She is a Distinguished Professor & Director at the Ramalingaswami Centre on Equity & Social Determinants of Health, at the Public Health Foundation of India.
Gita Sen is a professor emeritus at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and a former director of the Ramalingaswami Centre on Equity & Social Determinants of Health. She is an expert on health and population, gender and development, and inequality, and has worked with the World Bank, the UN, and DAWN.

For over three decades, Professor Gita Sen has worked on population policies, reproductive and sexual health, gender equality, and women’s human rights, as well as issues of poverty, human development, and labour markets. Her work has helped to shape the global paradigm shift on gender and development, and on population and development.
