Laborintus II is an album by the Belgian orchestra Ictus Ensemble, the vocal group Nederlands Kamerkoor, and the American vocalist Mike Patton, which was recorded live at the 2010 Holland Festival. It was released on July 10, 2012, by Ipecac Recordings, and debuted at number 23 on the American Billboard Classical Albums Chart.

3 de jul. de 2012 · Laborintus II may come as a shock to listeners who know Patton through his other bands. But those who have been following his previous solo work might know what to expect – a very abstract work that runs the gauntlet from quiet, jazzy atmospherics to brazen, unsettling primal noise.
In this performance of Laborintus II, the decision to offer the role of narrator to Mike Patton, who hails from a world strongly identified with alternative rock, was an opportunity to stretch the singer’s integrative and metamorphic prowess.

10 de jul. de 2012 · The original Laborintus II utilised three female vocal soloists, a mixed choir, a narrator and an ensemble jazz group. The piece was about 35 minutes long and consisted of two parts.
This is a work written by my favourite Italian composer of the second half of the 20th century (and with Busoni and Puccini, a contender for my favourite Italian composer of the 20th century) performed, in part, by my favourite male rock singer of all time. But I have to nitpick.
