The founding line-up of Genesis consisted of guitarist Anthony Phillips, bassist Mike Rutherford, lead vocalist Peter Gabriel, keyboardist Tony Banks, and drummer Chris Stewart, all pupils of Charterhouse School in Godalming, Surrey.

From Genesis to Revelation is the first studio album by the British band Genesis, released in March 1969. It was produced by Jonathan King, who discovered them in 1967.
From Genesis To Revelation 1969 included a lyric sheet and text: The group started as Genesis, biblical centuries ago. But fate intervened, other groups became Genesis and who were we to fight. So we changed our name in America to Revelation. Moments later up came another Revelation.
