Alexis Andrew Nicholas Koerner (19 April 1928 – 1 January 1984), known professionally as Alexis Korner, was a British blues musician and radio broadcaster, who has sometimes been referred to as "a founding father of British blues".
Two of Donegan’s original bandmates in the Chris Barber band, the guitarist Alexis Korner and the harmonica-player and singer Cyril Davies, had tired of skiffle; and in July of that year, they rebranded their weekly club night above the Roundhouse pub in Soho from skiffle to blues, as the London Blues and Barrelhouse Club.
In 1961, when bandleader Chris Barber created a ‘Blues Interval’ in his Trad. Jazz nights at the Marquee Club, he approached Alexis Korner to provide guitar, and when Korner was offered control of the Blues portion of Barber’s show, he immediately sought out his old friend’s help.
Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated, or simply Blues Incorporated, were an English blues band formed in London in 1961, led by Alexis Korner and including at various times Jack Bruce, Charlie Watts, Terry Cox, Ginger Baker, Art Wood, Long John Baldry, Ronnie Jones, Danny Thompson, Graham Bond, Cyril Davies and Dick Heckstall-Smith.

Contribution to British Blues: formed the UK’s (and the world’s) first all-white, electric Blues Band; established the UK’s first Blues Clubs (The London Blues & Barrelhouse Club & The Ealing Club); and inspired a generation of new British Blues and R&B musicians.
