Earl R. Flansburgh (April 28, 1931 – February 3, 2009) was a Modernist architect known for his extensive work in the Boston area.
Earl R. Flansburgh, Prominent Boston Architect, Dies. On February 3, Earl Flansburgh, FAIA, died from complications resulting from a protracted battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 77. Flansburgh received his bachelor's degree from Cornell in 1953 and his master’s degree from M.I.T. in 1957.

The firm was founded in 1963 by the late Earl R. Flansburgh, FAIA, a distinguished Boston architect, who completed more than 200 diverse educational facilities projects during his career. Some of his notable projects include the Park School, the Cornell University Campus Store, and the Boston Design Center.
Flansburgh, the 1981 BSA president and 1999 BSA Award of Honor winner, generously supported emerging professionals and advocated for women architects. The firm he founded has been guided by the philosophy that a well-designed building improves the quality of our lives.
