22 de abr. de 2020 · Arriving early in the studio, Adrian Belew met legendary producer and sound engineer Roy Halee, a long time collaborator with Paul Simon starting in the 1960s with Simon and Garfunkel. Belew, who had no idea what Paul Simon’s new music sounded like, was quite surprised when Halee started playing him tracks he and Simon recorded.
Graceland is the seventh solo studio album by the American singer-songwriter Paul Simon. It was produced by Simon, engineered by Roy Halee and released on August 25, 1986, by Warner Bros. Records. It features an eclectic mixture of genres, including pop, rock, a cappella, zydeco, and Zulu ethnic music of South Africa.
Belew has also worked extensively as a session, guest, and touring musician, including periods with Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Laurie Anderson, and Nine Inch Nails, as well as contributing to hit singles by Paul Simon, Tom Tom Club, and others.
