  2. 17 de mar. de 2014 · Using this logic, for days, this should refer to the day coming in the next 6 days (this week), while next should refer to the day in the next 7-13 days (the next week). Note, this should not be used on the day before, or on the day itself, when we would use tomorrow or today (but continue to use next for the following Friday).

  3. 19 de ago. de 2018 · It works with week. If you are saying on Sunday, 'This Wednesday' will mean Wednesday of this week, 'Last Wednesday' means previous week's and next will mean next week's. But wait, what if I say this Sunday on Monday? Actually, if you say this Sunday, it will mean next coming Sunday because the day is already done. I hope it is clear.

If the day in the future is in the current week, then I say this xxxday; if it is in the following week I say next xxxday; but if there is a day this week that has the same name as the week you are referring to i.e. Friday I say Friday week.   6. 1 Answer. Sorted by: 2. Terms such as "this week" and "next week" are nebulous terms in English. It's easy for the reader to misunderstand what you mean. In some contexts, "this week" can mean "this upcoming week", while in others, "this week" means "the week that we are currently in".
