City of Gold was the fifth album made by American psychedelic folk group Pearls Before Swine, and their third on Reprise Records. It was released in 1971. The album was the first to be credited to "Thos." (Tom) Rapp and Pearls Before Swine, rather than solely in the group's name.

Some liken one of these albums to alt-country but that’s only a fraction: for most the biblically-named Pearls Before Swine are really a full-throttle vehicle for Tom
‘City of Gold’ was an odd little album for Pearls Before Swine founder Tom Rapp. It was the first to be co-credited to him and the band (eventually Rapp would drop the Pearls Before Swine moniker altogether and bill himself as a solo performer).
