Angelo Bortolo Bertelli (June 18, 1921 – June 26, 1999) was an American football quarterback who played in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC). He played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 1943.
Angelo Bertelli, the "Springfield Rifle," played in only six games during the 1943 season, yet won the Heisman Trophy. They were calling him the greatest passer in Notre Dame history as Bertelli completed 69 percent of his passes for 10 touchdowns.
