Wooden Foot Cops on the Highway is the second studio album by English rock band The Woodentops, released in 1988 by record label Rough Trade. The album reached #48 on the UK albums chart, spending 2 weeks on the chart.
To its credit, Wooden Foot Cops marches forward irregardless of fate (a point the first two tracks would seem to address). The earlier records were more energized, more innocent, but the wordy Wooden Foot Cops is Woodentops from head to toe, so don’t be scared.

The more experimental mood continued on the second album Wooden Foot Cops on the Highway, released the following year. The song "Stop This Car" was voted No. 15 out of 106 in the KROQ Top 106.7 Countdown of 1988, outperforming many more established acts.
