17 de may. de 2007 · Southern Cross is a rich-sounding record, elevated by the nearly full-time collaboration of Tim Finn as lyricist and vocalist. It’s also a serious record: “Dr. Fidel,” “A Million Reasons Why,” “Rich And Poor.” They sing of class distinctions, dictators, unscrupulous doctors.

2 de oct. de 2020 · (The album has some solid guest vocalists in old partner Tim Finn and the lesser-known soul voice of Gary Dyson, both wail convincingly). This is followed by the luscious and sultry instrumental "Frontera 91", a voiceless reference to the original on Diamond Head on which Robert Wyatt manned the mike seductively.
13 de jul. de 2021 · Tim and Phil make a very good songwriting and producing pair -- I think the potential was there on the Southern Cross but that album is sadly a bit marred by eighties production and bit of CD Bloat Syndrome -- and the fact that Tim left the project before it was finished.
