Unwound es un grupo musical estadounidense de post-hardcore proveniente de Tumwater/ Olympia, parte del estado de Washington. Conformado en 1991, la banda consistía del guitarrista, vocalista y cantautor Justin Trosper, el bajista Vern Rumsey, y Brandt Sandeno como baterista, los cuales provenían de una banda llamada Giant Henry.
During their final (2001–02) tour, Unwound enlisted David Scott Stone as an additional guitarist and original drummer Brandt Sandeno on keyboards, percussion and guitar. The band was known for having an all-ages policy at almost every concert which it headlined.

We decided the best approach to translating the album live was adding some new players to the mix: Brandt Sandeno, Unwound’s original drummer and a contributor to much of Leaves, became our live keyboard player; David Scott Stone, an old time compadre from Los Angeles and recent Melvins tour “gun-forhire,” our second guitar player.
