Alexander John MacRae (25 December 1889 – 30 November 1938) was a sports entrepreneur and clothing manufacturer. Born in Scotland, he emigrated to Australia where, in 1914, he founded the company that became the swimwear giant Speedo.
According to the late 19th-century historian Alexander Mackenzie, and Rev. Alexander Macrae in the early 20th century, the main authority for the early history of Clan Macrae is the late 17th-century manuscript account of the clan written by Rev. John Macrae.
Alexander Macrae (born 1999-07-04) is a former professional road racing cyclist from Great Britain, active between 2018 and 2023. His best results are 37th place in National Championships Great Britain - Road Race and 41st place in National Championships Great Britain MU23 - ITT.

Speedo, an Australian company, was founded by Scottish immigrant Alexander MacRae. He was born in 1888 and grew up in a small fishing village near Loch Kishorn in the West Highlands, before moving to Sydney in 1910.
Few people know that ‘Speedo’, the iconic sportswear brand, is linked to the Scottish West coast village of Applecross. The connection is a young man called Alexander MacRae, who was raised in Achintraid in Kishorn – part of the old Applecross parish – and emigrated to Australia in 1910.
