The Loomis Chaffee School ( / ˈluːmɪs ˈtʃeɪfi /; LC or Loomis) is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory school for boarding and day students in grades 9–12, including postgraduate students, located in Windsor, Connecticut, seven miles north of Hartford.
250 courses, 70 advanced or college-level. 11 students — average class size. 180 faculty. 4:1 student/faculty ratio. 75+ student clubs and organizations. 58 interscholastic athletics teams. Chartered in 1874, Loomis Chaffee is an independent college preparatory boarding and day school for grades 9–12 and postgraduates.
For the 2023–24 year, Loomis awarded $12 million in financial aid to 33 percent of our student body. Financial aid is intended to make the cost of attending Loomis affordable. To that end, aid grants range from $1,000 up to the full cost of tuition, with the average grant covering 78 percent of tuition.
