  1. Cut and Shoot is a city in eastern Montgomery County, Texas, United States, about 6 mi (9.7 km) east of Conroe and 40 mi (64 km) north of Houston. Until 2006, Cut and Shoot was considered and called a town. Then, the town council elected for it to be considered and referred to as a city.

  4. The population in 1990 was 903. The current population in the 2000 census is 1158. The Town Hall is located approximately 6 1/2 mile east of Conroe on Texas Highway 105. Stephen F. Austin Elementary School of the Conroe ISD is located in Cut and Shoot with kindergarten through 4th grade. There are approximately 900 students enrolled from the area.
