Terry Winter Kay (February 10, 1938 – December 12, 2020) was an American author, whose novels examined life in the American South. His most well-known book, To Dance with the White Dog, was made into a Hallmark Hall of Fame television movie starring Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy. Three of Kay's books became movies.

Award-winning novelist Terry Kay was born in Hart County, Georgia, on February 10th, 1938, the eleventh of twelve children. He was reared on a farm and was graduated from West Georgia Junior College in 1957 and from LaGrange College in 1959, earning a degree in Social Science, with extensive study in theater arts.

13 de dic. de 2020 · Terry Kay, a native of Georgia who won fans at home and abroad for his novels set in the South, has died. He was 82. His death on Saturday was announced on his Facebook page. A post on the page October 25 said Kay had been diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer. His daughter, Heather Kay Flury, confirmed the news to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
