The English tenor, Steven Harrold, was accepted to the choir of St. Paul when he was 8 years old. With this choir he sand at the Royal Wedding of Charles and Diana and visited the famous Abbey Road Studios to sing on a pop single, 'We all stand together' with Paul McCartney and the King’s Singers .
Steven Harrold, Tenor. Having first been a member of The Tallis Scholars from 1996-2001, I have recently re-joined the group for a second spell! My very first concert was back in 1993 at the Megaron in Athens, which I remember very well because it started at 11am! (9am British time).
Steven joined Gothic Voices more than twenty years ago after meeting former member John Nixon as a colleague in the choir of Westminster Abbey in London. Gothic Voices introduced him to the delights of ensemble singing and the beauty and variety of medieval music.

Music of Guillaume de Machaut (ca. 1300-1377) has been in the Hilliard’s repertoire for decades, and in the 1980s the group recorded his Messe de Notre Dame for Hyperion, in a version deemed definitive by many critics.
