About Martyn Swain. He workshopped the songs with various Professional Singers and members of Opera North and decided to self-fund the original performances at the atmospheric Merchant Adventurer’s Hall in York simply to see if the work was worthy of a paying audience.
Martyn Swain is an Emmy and FIPA D’Or Award-Winning Composer, and Sound Designer working from his own Digital ‘Sound to Picture’ studio in Central London. As a touring musician, he worked with the Waterboys, World Party, Aimee Mann, Toni Childs, Julian Lennon, Sinead O’Connor, Holly Johnson and David Bowie, amongst others.

For more than 30 years, he interpreted in French and English for the world’s senior diplomats and international organisations. He interpreted personally for Nelson Mandela shortly after his release from prison in South Africa in 1990.
