Scritti Politti are a UK band formed in 1977 in Leeds, England by Welsh singer-songwriter Green Gartside, who is the sole remaining member of the original band. The group's most successful album, 1985's Cupid & Psyche 85 , produced three UK Top 20 hits.

Production Notes Sessions for Cupid & Psyche 85 began in London in 1983 with Green Gartside and keyboard player David Gamson working on 'Small Talk'. Although they subsequently returned to a number of London studios, the bulk of the album was recorded with drummer Fred Maher at Atlantic Studios, Minot Sound and The Power Station in New York City. Arif Mardin, co-produced the album with the trio.
