Animation. It began with Batman: The Animated Series in 1992 and ended with Justice League Unlimited in 2006.
He originally debuted in 1959 as Mr. Zero, a scientist that made a freezing gun and had an accident that caused him to have to make an air-conditioned suit and he formed a gang and started robbing banks. His origin in The Batman (2004) is closer to his original comic book origins.
