There are several "purple kayn" builds which are essentially using the runes and items for blue kayn on red, or vice versa. this can be good for two reasons. First, getting form earlier makes you more useful in game. Second, it can actually work out. A tanky blue kayn surprises enemies, and a high damage red kayn can heal a lot more

and dont go red kayn every game. When you're playing Rhaast you're building a lot of CDR to spam your spells and heal a lot in TF, but when ganking you can use it as a gape closer and also as a dodging tool. Q also scales on MS on both forms so if you use it during E you can also dash and spin faster.
