In a mixing bowl, combine a cup sugar, flour, milk, baking powder, salt and a little bit of ground cinnamon. Add the drained peach slices and half of the peach juice to the melted butter.

Cook peach slices in water with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla until boiling then turn down to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes.
