Buy Batman: The Killing Joke Blu-ray. Once the prologue is fully told, the Joker (Mark Hamill) finally shows up at the 34-minute mark with just 45 minutes remaining in the film. Batman goes to Arkham Asylum in hopes of trying to mend the schism between himself and the Joker, but the Joker at the Asylum is an imposter.
The Killing Joke is their relationship, their struggle. And the events in the novel is that brief moment of lucidity that both of them have in this moment of realization: their demise one day, possibly even at the hand of the other, is inevitable.
Jim Gordon survives Joker’s attempts to turn him into another Joker by breaking him psychologically. At the end, Joker is subdued, and he tells Batman a joke about two escaping asylum inmates that demonstrates the futility of one insane person trying to help the other, which forces even the dour Bats to laugh.

When Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke rolled around in 1988, The Joker was definitely seen as Batman’s arch-nemesis, a chaotic foil to Batman’s law and order. When paired against each other, they were two sides of the same coin. But eternal enemies like these can only butt heads for so long. After a certain point, resolution must be reached — one way or another.
According to one view, Batman and the Joker, who have been fighting for years, end all of their disputes by having a good laugh about it all. Another interpretation, popularized by comic writer Grant Morrison, is that Batman kills the Joker at the end of the story, hence the title "The Killing Joke".
Hace 4 días · Joker has a line in "The Killing Joke" that all it takes is "one bad day" to really change a person. So you can say this line of stories are inspired by that one sentiment. But all the stories are stand-alone stories and don't reference each other.
