In 2023, Brown received MTNA’s competitive MarySue Harris Studio Teacher Fellowship, which is awarded to three music teachers annually. In the summer of 2022 and 2023, he was a counselor at BCAS piano camps, where he taught private lessons, and music theory. In 2021 he served as a piano Teaching Assistant at Interlochen camp for the arts.

Maintaining an active schedule as a guest conductor, conducting teacher, and guest lecturer throughout the United States and Canada, Thompson has had the privilege of teaching conducting to thousands of undergraduates, graduate students, and professional educators.
