Hace 1 día · EDS offers spatially-correlated information on the composition of materials imaged via TEM and the relative abundance of constituent elements. EDS and EELS are complementary; if one technique struggles to achieve good sensitivity toward a desired element, than often the other will prove to be effective toward it.
Hace 5 días · The EELS data indicate that water near the CNT inner wall has a lesser degree of H-bonding than that at the center forming water cluster. The strong nanoconfinement effects are mainly observed within the first ~2 nm of the CNT inner wall, which would be ~64% of the volume of a 10-nm CNT, but only ~36% of a 20-nm CNT, <9% of the volume of a 90-nm CNT, and <4% of the volume of a 250-nm CNT.
Hace 4 días · EELS spectrums for iron, tantalum and carbon peaks have been acquired between ranges 620 to 800 ev, 1640 to 1820 ev and, 200 to 380 ev, respectively. Figure 11 (j) shows iron enrichment (can be seen in yellow colour which is more prominent) in matrix whereas tantalum (Figure 11 (k)) and carbon (Figure 11 (l)) enrichment are observed in blue colour at precipitate location.
Hace 1 día · Figure 3(g) shows the EELS spectra of the bulk LaTiO 3 (olive), type I (red) and type II (blue) domain boundaries, and bulk SrTiO 3 (magenta), respectively. As can be seen, the Ti L 2,3 edges of the bulk LaTiO 3 and type I domain boundaries have two peaks, indicating that the valence states of Ti cations are +3.
