Proposals for a bridge connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn were first made in the early 19th century, which eventually led to the construction of the current span, designed by John A. Roebling .

Hace 4 días · I forgot which of the northbound lanes I was in, as I was excited to be one of the first people — if not the first person — to shoot photographs of the Brooklyn Bridge in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 24, 1983. I stayed on the empty highway and photographed the bridge through the night until after dawn.
