Vosk is best known for her portrayal of Elphaba in the long-running Broadway show Wicked, and Barrett recently portrayed Mrs. Phagan in the 2023 Broadway revival of Parade. Arima explained the process of bringing both Vosk and Barrett in for the production.

Hace 2 días · Kelli Barrett has the less showy role of Bertie. She knows she is Vosk’s sidekick, just as Bertie is Cee Cee’s, and it is to Barrett’s immense credit she never tries to upstage the diva.

A two-and-a-half hour show, including a 20-minute intermission, Beaches the Musical is a crowd-pleaser, garnering chuckles at the jokes, applause after most of the songs, and a standing ovation at the conclusion of last Friday’s premiere.

She knows she is Vosk's sidekick, just as Bertie is Cee Cee's, and it is to Barrett's immense credit she never tries to upstage the diva. Where Vosk has to hide Cee Cee's real personality and feelings, Barrett always gets to display Bertie's as open and raw.
