I believed an AP bruiser itemizations should try to better fit melee champions with higher base AD's rather than ranged mages, however, shouldn't try to be hard exclusive to melee. Urgot is an example who fits the fighter archetype but is ranged. Swain might be an example of that as an AP counter part.
