Welcome to Senior School. At age 11, pupils from Birkdale Prep School are joined by children from many different schools. A welcoming environment, tailored to the needs of the individual, allows all our pupils to settle in quickly, make new friends and enjoy their days at school.
Birkdale School is an independent school of around 800 pupils aged 4-18 with a co-educational Sixth Form of nearly 200.
History. Since its foundation by Mr Asterley, first Head Master at the turn of the century (1904), Birkdale has continued to grow and develop, with expansion most marked in the last thirty years.
Birkdale is the only school in Sheffield which combines an exclusive focus on boys aged 4 to 16 years with a thriving co-educational Sixth Form. Our care for each individuals needs is at the heart of what we do.
