FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, November 22, 2022, Los Angeles, CA – The American Film Institute (AFI) Board of Trustees announced today that Nicole Kidman will be the recipient of the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award, the highest honor for a career in film, celebrating her career achievements thus far.
The AFI Life Achievement Award — the highest honor for a career in film — was established by the AFI Board of Trustees on February 23, 1973 to celebrate an individual whose career in motion pictures or television has greatly contributed to the enrichment of American culture.
AFI announced today that the 49th annual AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Nicole Kidman, scheduled for Saturday, June 10, will be postponed. For nearly half a century, the AFI Life Achievement Award has convened artists and audiences in celebration of excellence in the art form.
