Hace 3 días · International broadcasting television frequencies are divided in two part of the spectrum; the Very high frequency or "VHF“ band and the Ultra high frequency or "UHF“ band.
Hace 2 días · VHF (Very High Frequency): 136-174 MHz. Generally offers better range in open areas and can achieve ranges of 5-10 miles under optimal conditions. UHF (Ultra High Frequency): 400-520 MHz. Better at penetrating buildings and urban environments but typically offers slightly less range than VHF in open areas, around 2-5 miles.
Hace 1 día · The 16S400 was a 10-channel VHF Low, VHF High and UHF crystal scanner, or as RCA called it, a “Scan-Aire”. I don’t know how they came up with the model number, but I know they had an older 8-channel radio that was otherwise similar called the 16S300. I suppose that 16S indicated scanners and the 300 or 400 were sequential models in that line.
Hace 3 días · Two-way radios use either very high frequency (VHF) or ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio waves. VHF is the range from 30-300 MHz, and UHF is from 300 MHz – 1 GHz. Now, while “ultra-high” may sound more powerful, these higher UHF frequencies can’t actually travel as far as VHF.

The UHF band for satellite communication spans 300 MHz to 3 GHz, typically encompassing sub-bands like 400-420 MHz for military uses, 450-470 MHz for commercial radio, 800 MHz for emergency services, and 2.4-2.5 GHz for satellite internet and educational broadband.
