Hace 1 día · The Falmouth Stakes is named in honour of Evelyn Boscawen, 6th Viscount Falmouth. The Falmouth Stakes started in 1911 and has been featured in the Newmarket July Festival for many years. Trainer James Fanshawe scored three consecutive wins from 2003-2005.
Hace 5 días · The race was established in 1911 when it was originally restricted to three-year-old runners only, the race is named after Evelyn Boscawen who was the 6th Viscount Falmouth and best known for his breeding of racehorses which included twice a winning breeder of the Epsom Derby.

The manor of Arwenack, which extends over this parish, was acquired by the Killigrew family in the reign of Richard II., by marriage with the heiress of Arwenack.
