  4. Hace 2 días · "The Word Girl"—Scritti Politti Thank goodness (Or EMI, whichever you prefer) for the series that was "Now That's What I Call Music". Having purchased every edition up to the then-current number 5 (on which "The Word Girl" appeared as track 2), I was baffled by how many songs in the circa. 30 tracks each edition contained that I'd never heard on the radio or Top of the Pops.

  5. It's pretty subjective to say they're the "best". Post punk is a genre of music where generally a lot of emphasis is put on the bass lines, so I get why you might think that. But honestly trying to compare music genres like this doesn't make much sense because there's way too much overlap and it's impossible to say at what even constitutes a post punk bass line.

Number 18 this week, the song will peak at number 13 next week. The trumpet on the track is played by legendary Miles Davis - he previously covered Scritti's previous hit Perfect Way.
