After launching into an acting career in the 80s the star appeared for a six episode arc on the series Bay City Blues as well as The Paper Chase, Hard Copy and Dall. In the 90s Anderson landed one his biggest roles in the ABC series Thirtysomething.

His wife Saxon Trainor confirmed the news on Instagram. However, too distraught to write a tribute herself, she re-posted the words of her brother-in-law, Michael O’Malley.
