Hace 2 días · Portugal is a popular surfing destination (it’s most well-known location may be Nazaré, with its giant waves in the winter months). There are numerous beaches in the Algarve which have excellent surfing conditions. The western coast of the Algarve is the best place to surf big waves.

Nestled under the huge cliffs at the north end of the beach Nazare swell is funneled in from a deep water channel where it unloads top to bottom on the steeply shelved beach. Gets big, holds it and is super heavy. Nazare is a different place in the summer.
