So the Giallo genre refers to Italian crime « pulp » movies. I guess they peaked in the late 60s/ mid 70s. Most of the Italian horror directors like Mario Bava, Lucio Fulci and our dear Argento started with Giallo then experimented with horror while still doing Giallo which can be confusing.
