Hace 1 día · Lindisfarne‘s history as a sacred Christian site began in 635 AD, when the Irish monk Saint Aidan founded a monastery on the island at the invitation of King Oswald of Northumbria. According to the medieval chronicler Bede, Oswald asked the monks of Iona to send a bishop to help convert his kingdom to Christianity and they sent Aidan.
