Typically you wanna buy maelstrom as farming item. to farm up actual damage items like daedalus. generally you want dragon lance to build it into pike later as a escape item. as well as the extra range. so if you wanna go late buy a maelstrom to farm. can also be built into mjolnir later into the game for atk speed. or to deal with illusion heros.
