Hace 1 día · Richard Arkwright (1732-1792) Widely regarded as the father of the modern factory system, Richard Arkwright established the first water-powered textile mill in Cromford, Derbyshire in 1771. Arkwright‘s mills, which utilized his innovative water frame spinning machine, operated continuously with workers doing 12-hour shifts.
