Linwood Boomer (born October 9, 1955) is a Canadian-born American film and television producer, writer, and actor. He is known for playing the role of Adam Kendall on the drama Little House on the Prairie, and for creating the Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle .
Although he has been working behind the scenes writing, and is the creator of the highly popular series Malcolm in the Middle (2000), Linwood is best known as playing "Adam Kendall", Melissa Sue Anderson's blind husband on Little House on the Prairie (1974).
Linwood Boomer. Producer: Malcolm in the Middle. Linwood was the second youngest of four sons. He grew up with a strict mother, Eileen, and was enrolled in a gifted program at school. Linwood's first behind-the-scenes work was as writer and producer on the NBC series Silver Spoons (1982) (1985-86) and Night Court (1984) (1986-88).
