Masque is the thirteenth studio album by Manfred Mann's Earth Band, released in 1987 on Virgin Records. Chris Thompson had left the band after their previous album Criminal Tango and the band was now at three permanent members. After this album the Earth Band name was retired until 1991.
The band's hits include covers of Bruce Springsteen's "Blinded By The Light" and "Spirit In The Night", "Davy's on the Road Again", and "Runner". Forming in 1971 and despite a short hiatus in the late 80's/early 90's, the Earth Band has continued to perform and tour through the present. ...

The official Manfred Mann's Earthband website describes "Masque" as the sequel to the 1973 album "Solar Fire". Quite how this definition is arrived at is not explained. There were some eight albums in between and there is little musically to tie the two together.
