Hace 1 día · (Actually, I think Þorvaldsdóttir’s music is a better commentary on Rothko’s paintings—though it isn’t trying to be—than the piece actually inspired by the Chapel, by Morton Feldman.) As Fosse’s paintings are a remarkable synthesis of the traditional and the modernist novel, so Þorvaldsdóttir’s music is a synthesis of classical orchestration with post-modernist timbres.
