SYNOPSIS. The glamorous actress Jane Wilkinson asks Poirot's assistance in persuading her estranged and unsympathetic husband Lord Edgware to grant her a divorce. Reluctantly agreeing to help, Poirot is soon caught up in a murder case when the same man is found dead and Jane the obvious suspect for the murder was at a dinner with 12 other guests.
Lady Edgware, the well-known stage actress Jane Wilkinson, has a dilemma in that her husband has consistently refused to give her a divorce. She asks Hercule Poirot to visit the man to see if there is any possibility of convincing him. Lord Edgware is nothing short of nasty, treating all those around him very badly.
Lord Edgware Dies is a work of detective fiction by Agatha Christie which was first serialised in The American Magazine in March 1933. In book form it was first published in the UK by the Collins Crime Club in September 1933 and in the US by Dodd, Mead and Company, probably also in September [1] the same year under the title of 13 at Dinner .
