Jaffa (also known as Yafo) is the ancient port city out of which Tel Aviv has now grown. In recent years, like much of South Tel Aviv, this area has been regenerated. The old narrow streets and courtyards are now another highly desirable part of Tel Aviv’s urban tapestry. Jaffa’s flea market is a well-known attraction of the area.
Part of the fun of old Jaffa Israel is exploring its winding streets and alleyways. Just near the Mahmoudia Mosque is Alley 3029 which turns into Money Changers’ Alley (Simtat HaHalfanim). Rumor has it that the sailors from all over the world who arrived at Jaffa Port changed their money here to pay for the prostitutes who serviced the sailors.

1 de dic. de 2022 · The Gate of Faith in Jaffa. A large statue, made of Galilee stone, was sculpted by the sculptor Daniel Kafri of Jerusalem between the years 1973-1975. The statue stands at the top of Peak Park in Old Jaffa. The statue, of two 4 meter tall pillars upon which rests a stone, also 4 meters in length, resembles a gate.
