Čačak se află, de asemenea, pe Drumul Național 22 (Ibarska magistrala) și pe Drumul Național 23 (Zlatiborska magistrala), două autostrăzi principale din Serbia de Vest. O cale ferată de la Kraljevo la Požega trece prin Čačak, conectând astfel orașul cu calea ferată Belgrad – Bar (una dintre principalele căi ferate ale țării).
Čačak se nalazi u neposrednoj blizini nekoliko planina i Ovčarsko-Kablarske klisure sa jedanaest manastira iz raznih epoha, a na manje od 20 kilometara od centra ovog grada postoje i tri banje. Možda su reči popularne pesme koje su Čačak nazvale “šumadijskim rokenrolom” najbolje opisale ovaj grad u samom srcu Srbije.

Čačak kakav danas poznajemo, osnovao je srpski župan Stracimir, brat Stefana Nemanje, koji je ne slučajno ovaj grad izabrao za svoju prestonicu. Za današnji izgled Čačka umnogome je zaslužan nagli razvoj koji je grad zadesio u drugoj polovini 19. veka.
