The coat of arms of Colombia contains a shield with numerous symbols. Perched on top of the shield is an Andean condor holding an olive crown and the condor symbolizing freedom. The national motto , Libertad y Orden (Spanish for Liberty and Order ), is on a scroll in between the bird and the shield in black font over golden background.
The shield is posing over four flags of Colombia diverging from the base in which the two upper ones form an angle of 90° and separated from the bottom ones 15°. These flags are posted towards the coat of arms' vertex .
The flag. Yellow symbolizes wealth; blue the two seas around us; and red is the blood shed by our heroes. National Emblem. The coat of arms of the Republic of Colombia has three horizontal sections. The condor, bird of our Andes, symbolizes freedom.
At the center of the Coat of Arms is a shield which is divided into three sections. the base section shows the Isthmus of Panama, which belonged to Colombia until 1903. The middle section uses a Phrygian cap, which is a traditional symbol of freedom.
The national flag is draped on both sides of the shield and the country's motto Libertad y Orden (Liberty and Order) is written on a scroll. The coat of arms also contains two oceans and two ships, to symbolise Colombian commerce, and a Phrygian cap, which symbolises freedom and liberty.
Each area proclaimed independence under a separate flag—horizontal stripes of yellow over red, a tricolour of blue-yellow-red, blue and white stripes within a silver border, and others.
24 de jul. de 2023 · The shield is surrounded by a flag and a laurel wreath. The flag represents Colombia’s independence and the unity of its people. The laurel wreath, made of intertwined laurel leaves, signifies victory, honor, and glory.
