God even allows a government mandated census to bring about the fulfillment of His promises of a Savior. The Bible records in Luke 2:4-7 that Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem.

In this Christmas season, take time to really hear the words of such wonderful songs of our Savior, of Jesus Christ our Lord, who was “born to glorify the Father,” who was “born to wear the thorns for me” … and for you. Oh, praise be to His holy name, in this season when we celebrate His birth, and every day throughout the year.

This confirms who Jesus is. It validates His identity. It verifies His ministry. It confirms God’s blessings on His life and on His ministry.
If we follow Jesus Christ in faith, we can receive another wonderful gift: “If thou wilt do good, yea, and hold out faithful to the end, thou shalt be saved in the kingdom of God, which is the greatest of all the gifts of God” ( D&C 6:13 ). As we follow Jesus Christ in faith, we look forward to the time when He will return to earth.
